Chris Hampton
Chris Hampton is the Director of IT/Director of Web and Database Administration for the Conference Center of the Western North Carolina Conference. He joined the staff as Webmaster on June 4th, 2018 and was promoted to head of the IT department January 1st, 2019.
He is a lifelong United Methodist who grew up in Thomasville, NC. He attended UNC-Charlotte where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a minor in Computer Science.
Chris has consulted and designed many websites and databases over the years for the Mission Engagement Team of the Western North Carolina Conference and various churches throughout North Carolina. His passion for technology, though, dates back to high school, where he has managed multiple websites, web projects, and technology management projects for over ten years.
Since starting at WNCC, Chris has been instrumental in upgrading our old database and administration site to a secure, user-friendly, and web/mobile based platform for the 21st century. He has worked hard in the conversion to ensure that data is preserved while also implementing new practices that make administration tasks easy and simple.
Chris has a passion for intersecting ministry and technology and continues to look forward to the many ways to help make the web a platform to further the ministry of the Western North Carolina Conference.
