Date of Death: 12/14/2023 | Date of Birth: 6/22/1954; | ClergyWe have received word of the death of the Rev. James Gregory Dickens on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Greg is survived by his son, James “Jamie” Matthew Dickens; a brother, Eugene “Gene” Grady Dickens, Jr.; a nephew, Phillip Dickens; a niece, Courtney Dickens Hanes (Kori); and a family full of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1:00pm at Thrift United Methodist Church, 8245 Moores Chapel Rd, Charlotte, NC, officiated by the Rev. Jack Knoespel, Rev. Dr. Keith Copeland, Rev. Larry Bolick, Rev. Linda Voelker, and Rev. Frances Browne. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11:30am.
