Date of Death: 4/2/2024 | Date of Birth: 5/1/1944; | ClergyWe have received word of the Tuesday, April 2, 2024 death of the Rev. Dr. James Ross Westmoreland at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Barbara Bradley Westmoreland. He is survived by his sons: the Rev. Chris Westmoreland (wife Kristin) and Andy Westmoreland (wife Ashley); grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Jay, Cameron, Carter, Kendall, and Lincoln; and a brother, Bobby. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 4:00pm in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 190 E Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC. There will be an “after party” immediately following in the Family Life Center including food, fellowship and more than a few hugs to be shared.
