Date of Death: 2/18/2024 | Date of Birth: 9/3/1950; | ClergyWe've received word of the Sunday, February 18, 2024 death of the Rev. Robert Eugene Roach of Hickory. Bob is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hoover Roach; a son, Robert Ryan Roach (Shannon); a daughter, Elizabeth Roach Roseman (Jason); grandchildren: Teague, Virginia, Pressley, Charlotte Gray, and Kate; brother, George Harold Roach (Sharon); sister, Susan Carolyn Roach; sister-in-law, Mary Ben Roach; brother-in-law, Rod Hoover (Cornelia); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Townsend Roach. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 2:00pm at First UMC, 311 3rd Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601. Mrs. Roach has requested attending clergy to wear robes, and process together into the sanctuary to be seated together. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, from 12:00-1:45, in the First UMC Community Room.
