Statement from the WNCC Delegation to General Conference

   "We celebrate the controversial, long-awaited, and transformative decision by our General Conference to remove the hurtful and exclusionary language regarding LGBTQ persons from our Book of Discipline. We do so joyfully, with no loud cheering or taunting, but humbly and a bit subdued, knowing siblings in our church family grieve while others shed tears of excitement and relief. The real work of reconciliation is, of course, still not complete. We refuse to accept that, in church, we have winners and losers. We are one Body in Christ. We are still together, and we trust that by God’s grace, we are better together. We are committed to the ongoing labor of healing, community, and love for all God’s children."
