Poor People's Campaign

February 28, 2024

We invite all clergy and laity who are interested to join in the North Carolina Poor People’s Campaign “Mass Moral March” on Saturday, March 2, at 10am at the state legislature in Raleigh. The PPC is a national movement that is non-partisan and non-violent, and advocates for justice for people in poverty, homelessness, without healthcare, and other related issues. It also works against racism, voter suppression, and discrimination against the LGBTQ community.

The National Poor People’s Campaign has picked up And initiative launched by Dr. martin Luther King Junior before he was assassinated, and is modeled after the original Moral Monday movement in North Carolina led by Bishop William Barber. More than 30 other states in which Dr. Barber has organized the PPC will also be holding rallies in their state capitals on March 2. This nationwide event will kick off 40 weeks of activism leading up to the 2024 election.

We hope you will join in this event and this movement. Go to https://ppc-nc.org/ for more information or you can email lelliott879@gmail.com
