A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE

Designed for churches and clergy seeking to improve skills around leading change. One of the lessons churches learned from COVID is that we CAN change when we have to. Yet change remains difficult for many congregations to embrace.  This cohort provides a toolbox of practices and skills to help clergy lead intentional change in their congregations.

The three topics we will focus on include:
  1. Influencing Change in the Local Church
  2. Helping Churches Set Direction
  3. Empowering Lay Leadership
We will be practicing Active Learning so there will be time between sessions in order for participants to apply what they are learning. We will also provide coaching to help support the application. Whether a church is trying to figure out a new direction, or how to implement a vision, struggling to connect with community partners, or stuck in the midst of trying to implement change, this cohort is designed to help churches at various stages of change.

The facilitators are Rev. Lory Beth Huffman, Appalachian District Superintendent, and Rev. Rob Parsons, pastor of WithALL Congregation in Columbus, NC.  There will be some guest facilitators as well.
