The Labors, Loves, Losses and Likes of Preaching

We will build a community where we listen to one another’s struggles and delights, and love and support one another in the task and life of preaching. To get there, we will review and develop sermons together, and we will engage in hopefully deep conversation about these topics:

• Cultural Divides and Preaching
• What is the text breaks your heart
• Preaching as personal witness
• Fears in preparation, delivery, and the aftermath
• Preaching and Administration
• Beauty and the Preaching Docent
• Strategies for Preaching Over Time
• Never assume, and never give what they expect
• Testing ideas on strangers or your dog
• Worship planning and the sermon
• Personal growth through preaching

When

We will meet in Charlotte at Myers Park UMC on Thursdays, 10-12 am with lunch provided.
{allowing for some flexibility once we meet and look closely at our calendars}
