Date of Death: 5/1/2024 | Date of Birth: 1/29/1926; | ClergyWe have received word of the Wednesday, May 1, 2024, death of the Rev. Lloyd Donald Ellis of Greensboro. Don is survived by his wife, Clara Taylor Ellis; their five children: Emmett (Jane); Marie Pugh; Gene (Mary Catherine); Mike (Candi); and Tim (Laura); nine grandchildren: Carey, Jennifer, Chris, Sarah, Mary Hannah, Justin, Taylor, Hailey, and Harrison; ten great-grandchildren; and his brother, Douglas Ellis. He was predeceased by his brother, Dale Ellis (Jean). A service of remembrance will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 2300 West Friendly Ave, Greensboro on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00pm, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Michael Brown, Rev. Dr. Alexander Ward, and the Rev. Kelley Groce. A short period of visitation will occur after the service, followed by a private interment ceremony at the Centenary columbarium.
